Butchers Cut MSC Menu
Introduction
I just HAVE to tell you about our delightful dining experience at Butcher’s Cut on my last MSC cruise! It really won’t leave my head and I am already planning on when I will go back. I am not kidding; this venue changes everything you thought you knew about dining at sea!
So, allow me to share all of the details about this fabulous steakhouse! For one thing, I was astonished to learn they have this restaurant on thirteen (That’s THIRTEEN! Yes!) of their ships. I understand why they kept adding it to more ships after dining there.
You walk in and immediately get hit with this amazing steakhouse vibe. Oh, and by the way – their kitchen is open! Half my time spent simply watching the chefs at work; It’s like dinner and a show, for real LOL. The sounds of it sizzling, the tantalizing scents… I was practically salivating before I even took my seat!
Butchers Cut MSC Menu features exquisite culinary selections under the label “Dining Experience” and includes food items, ordered and paid separately. It also serves an amazing kids menu. I have included images of the Butchers Cut MSC Menu. You can also download it’s PDF format here.
Butcher’s Cut “Dining Experience” Menu
(You know that’s what you want to talk about first so let’s just get it out of the way!) They’re offering a “Dining Experience” package in good per price. I thought, “Hmmm is it worth it?” But trust me, it SO is! You choose 3 dishes from various sections of the menu, and here is where it gets ingenious — if you see something on the normal menu that interests you can swap that in at half price. I mean, how versatile is that?!
Butcher’s Cut à la carte menu
As for the a la carte of the regular menu (if you want get all fancy about it ), goodness, where to I even begin?! They’ve got,
- some mouth-watering, eye-popping appetizers
- An incredible variety of starters (those crab cakes were the stuff of dreams!)
- Killer soups to warm the bones (their French onion soup is literally a gift)
- A whole range of entrées
Don’t even get me started with their steak, perfection!
The Drinks Situation
Guys, the cocktail menu needs its own paragraph! Being into gin this was heaven! It was a gin-lover’s dream at Nightcap with their delectable assortment of cocktails! But the kicker was they didn’t leave out the non-drinkers and kiddos.
My best friend Sarah is a non-drinker and said their mocktail was one of the better ones she’d had. We mean proper, creative drinks — not juice and an umbrella!
For the Little Skippers out there… Wait until you hear this, parents!! The kids menu (which they charmingly call “Young Sailors”) is unbelievably awesome. Children under 12 receive a proper meal of three courses for 12 euros. And this isn’t your sad, frozen nuggets – we’re getting the REAL DEAL here!
Butcher’s Cut Young Sailors Menu
Here is what the kids get to pick from:
Main Courses:
Chicken tenders that are made with chicken (Parents, you know what I mean!!)
The best looking mac and cheese (I may have ‘borrowed’ a bite or three)
A proper, juicy cheeseburger
Steamed rice with teriyaki chicken
Pasta with either marinara or alfredo sauce (the sauce is made from scratch!)
Side Kicks (cute name, right?):
Classic french fries (so crisp so perfect!)
It was this amazing creamy spinach that got kids to eat their vegetables.
Granny-level mash potato
Carrots with ranch (is there any better way to get your kiddos eating veggies?)
Sweet Tooth Choices — this is where it starts to get juicy! ):
Ice cream sundae-your-own (too jealous of the kids when I saw this line going)
Unbelievable shakes (chocolate peanut butter or strawberry banana)
Root beer float — this one is so nostalgic!
Fruit is always great for families who want to eat healthy.
Brunch Alert!
Also, can we pause and talk about their brunch for a moment? As this was completely unexpected! You pay only 12 euros for a dish AND a drink. And if you’re extra-extra hungry (hey, vacation hunger!) you may add extra for 6 euros. This is just ideal for those lazy days at sea when you cannot decide between breakfast or lunch!
The Entire Experience… The one thing that really impressed me about Butcher’s Cut was the seemingly effortles balance they managed to strike. It would be perfect for a nice date night (lots of couples were doing just that when I went)., but it also works great for a family dinner. The vibe is fine dining without the fussy edge, and the service? Outstanding! Our waiter was a real star and knew the menu very well, made excellent recommendations.
Some Pro Tips
MAKE A RESERVATION! I mean, take my word for it — I witnessed a lot of sad faces at the door trying to walk in. Don’t be those people!
- Serve the peppercorn sauce alongside your steak. You can thank me later.
- Save room for dessert. Their chocolate lava cake is, well, what dreams are made of.
- You better come hungry if you are a part of the Dining Experience package. Like, really hungry. The portions are generous!
- Specifically, request a table close to the open kitchen if you want to see this chef show — you’ll thank for it as you munch on your food.
In Summary
Compared to Other Cruise Restaurants…I’ve dined at many specialty restaurants across several cruise lines (including The Wake on Virgin Voyages) and Butcher’s Cut gives them all a run for their money. The food, the way it is presented, and the service is just perfect.
This steakhouse destination on MSC remembered me The Wake on Virgin Voyages considering their similarities in terms of ambience and superb steak options they offer.
The Value Factor Okay guys, let’s speak some value for money here, that’s still significant news, huh? Are there cheaper specialty restaurants at sea? Sure, but I really do think it’s worth every euro.
From the quality ingredients, portion size, service to atmosphereit translates to very special dining provided. And damn, it’s pretty affordable with variations like the Dining Experience package and (reasonable) kids’ pricing.
In Closing… Would I Return? In a heartbeat! In fact, I’m already looking at my next MSC cruise and you better believe Butcher’s Cut will be my first port of call!
Anyone sailing with MSC, if you are wondering about Butcher’s Cut – book it! Trust me on this one. I bet you’ll look back at it as one of the best bits of your cruise, just like I did!
And if you’ve already visited Butcher’s Cut I’d love to know what you thought! They say, oh did you try that chocolate lava there? What was your favorite dish? Drop a comment below!
