MSC Room Service Menu (2024): Cruise Cuisine at Your Doorstep
Italian Roots and First Impressions
Once I boarded my MSC cruise, the unmistakable Italian flair greeted me as it does throughout nearly every inch of an MSC ship. As a fan of all things authentic, I was thrilled to see its Italian roots reflected in the room service menu.
Their “Romantic Moments” packages—and, of course, the pizza delivery and stocked minibars were what piqued my interest immediately. Since it is a European cruise line, I did notice the menu comes in six different languages (German, French, Spanish. Italian, Portuguese and English).
It makes the menu card a little thick and it might seem daunting in the beginning but within few minutes I knew how to flip immediately to the English section. Here is how I maximized their room service and what you can expect.
To make things simple for you I have shown pictures of the menu in English for your quick reference. You can download the entire MSC room service menu here.
Ordering Process: A 24-Hour Culinary Journey
How to Place Your Order
The process of ordering was surprisingly simple. I simply picked up the phone in my cabin and punched Room Service whenever I got the slightest hint of hunger.
What I found out quickly is to have the code for what you want on hand — it makes everything go a lot faster. Speaking from personal experience, the staff here is very patient and helpful when you are just browsing.
Delivery Times and Service
Typically, your order arrives within twenty minutes. The best part for me was his consideration in delivery; the room service department always called prior to making an order.
This allowed me to wrap up whatever I was doing, and be in a place to receive my food. Such small niceties are what made my experience so nice.
Pricing Schemes and Timing Information
Here are the timelines and costs from my experience. Room service is available from 10 am to 6am, which I thought was a good feature. But there are some details to keep an eye on.
I was a first time Bella Experience guest on my cruise and so I had to pay $3.50 for delivery every time I ordered something. Anyone ordering during the wee hours, 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM, also pays a higher fee.
They also had a limit of two orders per person per stateroom, I thought that reasonable. I kept close to the balance of convenience and how quickly service gets done.
The Romantic Moments Package Experience
To mark my anniversary on the ship, I opted for one of their Romantic Moments packages. These can be ordered via Guest Services or with the in-room TV system. One piece of advice: plan ahead, as there’s a minimum wait time for delivery.
It is important to note as well that bar purchases will add on a 15% service charge, and depending on your route, VAT or port taxes may be added.
Other Package Options
Romantic Sunset
This was my pick of the lot. Imagine — with my own private balcony watching the brilliant Mediterranean sunset while sipping on Moët & Chandon Brut champagne in lovely MSC flutes (that you get to keep as a memento)! Those chocolate-dipped strawberries are just heavenly. It was that kind of perfect moment you always remember.
Pink Indulgence
This was the package my cabin neighbours chose, and I was mildly jealous! We were given a chilled bottle of Domaine Chandon Étoile Rosé, in those justifiably famous MSC flutes, and a strong selection of canapés. It seemed just right for their daughter’s graduation celebration.
Rose Petal Package
On another night I had this pack that included the Moscato “Il Vino dell’Amore” Couple this with some gorgeous petits fours, and the whole experience was so Italian: stylish but somehow also very comfortable.
Chocolate Strawberries
It was one languid afternoon, with the shore slipping silently past them as I ordered only chocolate-dipped strawberries. The berries were impeccably ripened, and the chocolate covering was high-quality — a delightful little indulgence that seemed almost decadent.
Anniversary Package
This is what we chose to do for our real anniversary dinner. The Asti bottle was nice, but the cherry on top has to be the personalized cake. The decor was very effective and the flavor even better than we expected.
Wine Connoisseurs' Treat
This option appealed to me as a wine lover in particular. Evenings on the balcony with their wine list plus one of several cheese platters carefully selected to pair with specific wines, the combination was heavenly.
Italian Experience — Pizza Delivery Service
Ordering Process
I had higher hopes for their pizza, an Italian cruise line and all, of which I was not disappointed. I found pizza delivery times handy and they are listed in the daily program. You order, like regular room service over your cabin phone.
Delivery Experience
Your pizza will show up within thirty minutes or so, and as above if they’re on their way they call. This was something I loved because this ensured fresh and hot pizzas would always be delivered. The quality was quintessentially Italian cruise line — completely authentic, and delicious.
Minibar Services Minibar: Convenience in the Palm of Your Hand
Stock and Refill Process
All cabins includes a fully stocked minibar — which I found especially useful. It’s an easy system whereby you use what you require, complete the Minibar Check and sign. Access to daily billing for consumption at commercial rates helped me track my expenses.
End of Cruise Procedures
One important detail I learned: the minibar service ends on the last night of the cruise. But, if you want to leave it open (as I did for those final night celebrations) you could sort this out at Guest Services or Reception.
Final Thoughts and Tips
Reflecting on my MSC cruise experience, I appreciate how they balance practicality with opulence. The room service menu caters to all tastes ranging from a quick snack to an intimate dining experience. Here are some tips I learned:
- Try to reserve your Romantic Moments packages at least a week in advance, particularly during busy sailing periods
- To remember the delivery time of a pizza in your daily program
- Tip your late-night service for any orders after 11 PM
- Save your flutes from MSC as delightful keepsakes of your cruise
- When you request hot items, it may take some time for these to arrive at distant cabins – so consider that when ordering
The best thing about MSC’s room service has been preserving their Italian roots while serving travelers of the world. They may even help by adding extra touch with their improved attention to detail in packages, specifically romantic ones.
On MSC, treat yourself to something from its room service menu, whether you’re celebrating an occasion or want a quiet night in your cabin and would like to have your food served whilst cruising. In my experience these are the little luxuries that will take a nice trip to an unforgettable one.
MSC’s room service is everything cruise dining should be— flexible, luxury and memorable with a capital M — offering convenience matched by quality and detail in care for the guest. I glance at those MSC champagne flutes in my china cabinet every time and it reminds me of perfect moments on a cruise ship somewhere at sea, this is all what cruising represents, right? A great service, a good food and creating beautiful moments?
